This week ended with quite a bang!

Anita fed us the biggest amount of fufu I have ever seen! But before we ate we were pounding it for like 2 hours, ha ha.

This last week was pretty dang interesting!
For starters the week was kind of weird, ha ha. We had a couple of days with tons of lessons and a lot of success. Then the other days were full of disappointments and just a lot of time biking around with no one to see. But, such is missionary work. Sometimes we will have great days, then others will just be the complete opposite.

I don't know why Wilcox told me to take this picture of him, ha ,ha but I did. He is so weird. ha ha ha.
There were a couple really cool lessons that we had though. One of them, was with a man named Eric. He came to church the first week because our group leader had invited him. He had been traveling and he had just came back last week so we were finally able to meet him. While we were teaching him he was so excited and was just absorbing everything we were telling him. When we explained how this is the one and only true church he said, "Man, I have never heard this before. I am so glad you are telling me this." Yesterday in church someone asked if he was a member and he said, "No, but I am a soon to be a member. " I can't wait to continue teaching him because he is just so accepting and receptive of everything we have have taught.

This is how Godwin prepares the Kentai to go into his weaving contraption thingy, ha ha. It takes him about 2 hours to prep it, then and hour and a half to put it in the contraption, then another 7 hours before he completes one strand.

Yesterday at church was probably the weirdest experience. SO to start off our group leader wasn't showing up to church. We don't have a key to set up the sacrament or the chairs so we were all just waiting outside the chapel for over an hour. He never answered his phone so we didn't know what to do. We called the Mission President and then he called President John (the branch president in Dzodze) to come and be in charge. Well our group leader and President John arrived at the same time so we got to have the two of them there. We started church a little late but it went super well. There were a lot of people who would of been late, but since we started late they were on time. Then during testimony meeting President John gave such an amazing testimony. He was boldly stating why he knows the church to be true and the only true one. He told everyone that they need to all bring people to church every week to be a part of this wonderful opportunity to be members of the one and only true church. You could just tell that everyone was so excited and motivated and the spirit was just there with everyone.

SO once Godwin finishes prepping the string he puts in on a circle ring. Well, Wilcox and I decided to use it as a hat, ha ha.

Then for the second hour of church, President John brought a TV and we watched the First Presidency speaking in General Conference. He explained how the foundation of the church works and how it is the same as the church that Jesus Christ established. He also really emphasized how President Nelson is the only true living prophet today. He asked all of the investigators to take notes and then we will discuss them. They all were taking notes and were so into the video. They were just excited and motivated and you could see that they could feel the spirit testifying to them that this is true. After church, we went and visited all those who came and they all said they know it is true now. The best one was sister Anita. I asked her how she liked church and this is what she said. "I was so inspired! I am going to bring someone to church next week for sure! I just can't wait to be baptized!" So bear in mind, that whole week before church we have been really racking our brain about what we should do with her because she has had a hard time committing to coming to church. But now she is devoted to coming.
The church is true guys. There is no church in the world that can help you receive a spiritual witness as strong as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are blessed everyone! Never forget that. I love you all:)
Sincerely,
Elder Baird

Mom's notes:

1. Elder Baird had 5 investigators come to church this week.

2. He will call me for Mother's Day after our church. :)

3. They are teaching Anita who is super ready to be baptized as well as Eric, Vida, Wise and a couple others as well.

4. Each transfer is 6 weeks long and this is the last week of this transfer. Elder Baird will be getting transferred. He said that he has already spoke with his Mission President. He said, "I just don't know where I will go, but I will be very sad (to leave). But at the same time, if the Lord feels I need to go somewhere different I am more than ready to go where ever he needs me.
