T-minus 3 months! 7-8-2019
Fourth of July dinner
Well today marks the start of my second to last transfer in
Ghana. It is quite scary to think that two years ago I received my
mission call and I was beginning my preparation to serve my mission. Time flies
by! It really does!
To start my letter off, this past week was mostly the same as usual, ha ha. On Wednesday we had our monthly MLC (Mission Leader Counsel) and it went
really well! It's quite a privilege to be able to counsel with other missionaries about how we can help build up our missionaries. Especially when, we are able to see the success of their missions. It makes me really happy
to be that I am in this mission. I have seen it come a long way. The
missionaries here are just amazing. I can't even explain how blessed I am to
be here.
On the fourth of July we had a few missionaries over to make
fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Let's just say, that was a good way to end
my last fourth of July in Ghana, ha ha!
Then on Friday, I went on an exchange with Elder Warr. He is one of the district leaders in our zone. I had a great time
with him. Elder Warr is a wonderful missionary and he just loves to work. While I was with him, we were hoping to find a referral that we had received the day before. The man didn't have a phone so finding him would be really difficult, so we
had set aside about two hours to track him down and find him. At the
beginning of the two hours, Elder Warr wanted to go and check something out in a
store real quick which took about thirty minutes. After that, we went to where we
were supposed to try and meet the referral. Guess what?? The moment that we got
there, was the same time he got there! SO if we didn't go to the store we
wouldn't have met him. Let me just say, I took that as a little tender mercy
from the Lord, ha ha. It honestly made my entire day!
I am currently sitting here scratching my head thinking of
what else happened and nothing is coming to me right now, ha ha. Sorry this one
is so short guys! I just want to encourage all of you to study the
scriptures, especially your "Come Follow Me." As we sat in church on Sunday, I was
really impressed upon by the Spirit that it is truly a manual that is designed
to help us and our families. So I encourage you to make it a priority to study every week alone
and with family and friends! I promise that it will change your lives, because
I have seen it change the lives of the Saints in Ghana.
Sincerely,
Elder Baird
