Things always happen when you least expect it! 2-18-2019

Elder Baird wasn't able to load his pictures this week. He will do them next week. I put this one because he was able to attend the temple on Saturday. This past week was quite stressful, ha ha. I am going to go day by day so you can understand why, ha ha. Okay so on Tuesday we started with our District Council as usual. After we were done, we played some liar's dice and we had a good old time. Then the Sister missionaries said, "Elder Baird, we need you to do two baptismal interviews right now." Well I hadn't planned for that, but I didn't want to cause any problems so I said okay. Then they said that we had to wait for them to eat some food. So they ate and then we went to do the interview. After I finished, the two interviews it was already six in the evening. I had to also go over to the Zone leaders area's and do another baptism interview. That didn't end until around eight.  We finally got to go back to my area but it was too la...

Well we got a new apartment! 2-11-2019

One of the members (Sister Josephine) was having her hair done so she asked if she could  do it to me, ha ha. Of course I said yes. :) So this last week was quite interesting. Wednesday we had a meeting at the mission home to have a follow up training for the trainers and the trainees. That took most of the day, so by the time we got back to our area we had very little time to go out and proselyte. Especially, because we had to pack that same night to move the next day. Thursday, we moved apartments to a place much closer to the chapel. Which is a relief! It was quite interesting though. After moving in, we learned that we weren't going to have water until the next Tuesday (which is tomorrow). Then, as I walked in the kitchen I saw a giant mouse run under the fridge.... Well come to find out, it's living in the back of the fridge and we can't get it out. So we have had an unexpected visitor for the past few days.  On Friday, we were able to go out but not f...

Picture taken by Sister Keye's at training meeting. Let me just say, that I can't believe my time in Ghana is starting to come closer and closer to its end. I will be honest, I am not ready to leave at all because of how much I love being here and how much I love being a missionary. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving the Lord everyday. Training this past week has been going super well! Elder Klinglesmith is learning very fast and surprisingly, he can put up with all of my talking super well, ha ha! So here is funny story from this last week. Someone wanted to test and see if Elder Klinglesmith could hear any Twi. So they said, "Ayekoo" which means well done. His response was, "Am I cold?" Ha ha ha the way the person said it sounded like they were asking if he was cold and we all started laughing so hard! My poor companion had no idea what was going on so we had to explain it to him. Once he figured it out, he also had a pretty good lau...

Playing Frisbee by a school and being swarmed by kids. :) It was awesome. :) Man, training is a blast, ha ha! My new companion is Elder Klinglesmith from Roy, Utah! This guy is awesome! All he wants to do. is learn and "be one" with the people of Ghana and so we are enjoying ourselves a lot!  There weren't any really cool lessons that happened this week, ha ha, but a lot of funny things happened! The first funny thing was the first time I had Elder Klinglesmith eat Banku. He did very well but he had a very hard time swallowing it because he is the person who hates pills.. SO the sticky corn dough didn't sit well with him, ha ha, but he did super well! He is learning all the food here very quickly! Elder Klinglesmith and I. Then on Sunday, we went to visit a good friend of ours named Doris. She has been taught by missionaries but hasn't had the desire to join the church. She has one burning question with her always. Why did her mom join the ch...
