I am leaving Batsonaa!

The progression of my sunburn, ha ha ha.

After six months I am finally leaving this wonderful place. I am truly going to miss this place. I have had so much fun and have had so many memories here that I don't think I will never forget. Mission is an amazing experience. We are able to go around to new areas, meet new people and see new cultures. I'm sure that most returned missionaries know just what I am describing. IT is the greatest experience of a lifetime.

This past week was rough, ha ha. To begin with, I got burned really bad while we were at the beach this past Monday. I put sunscreen on my whole body except for where my socks were... Well when I got to the beach I removed my socks and forgot to add sunscreen...... So this whole past week was extremely painful. They got blistered and swelled up super bad so I wasn't actually able to walk most of Saturday.....

To top that off, my companion got really sick on Thursday and Friday...  It was very disappointing this past week, ha ha.  But that is mission. Sometimes we make mistakes and we have to suffer the consequences. Sometimes the Lord just wants to test our patience. I am definitely disappointed that my last week here was not more successful, but that is okay. In this life we just need to try our very best even if it doesn't work out how we want it to. The Lord only expects us to try our very best.

I honestly don't have much else to say,  ha ha. The past few weeks have been long and have been very difficult for me. But it is time to start a new chapter of my mission. I will forever miss this place, I truly will.

I will just end with my testimony that I know the Savior lives and that He is watching us always. He is also there for us when we are being tested. Look to him always. I have been hearing of so many tragic things happening around the world, at home, even in my home ward and in my family. Look to the Savior. Only he can mend a broken heart. No one else can. Go down to your knees and ask him what he feels for you and and ask him to know if he is truly there. If you have the faith necessary, he will show you. He has done it for me. He will do it for you.

Sincerely,
Elder Baird

Elder Kowall and Elder Wilcox came to visit us.

Mom's notes:

1. Elder Baird was pretty impressed with our Halloween costumes.

2. He was pretty excited that Elder Kowall and Elder Wilcox came to visit us on Saturday night. :)

3. He has a cold but is feeling pretty good otherwise.

4. He is being transferred on Wednesday to Ashaley Botwe. It is in the Madina Zone. He will be with Elder Eliason who is from the US. Elder Eliason will probably transfer after he has shown Elder Baird around.

Here is some google map images I found of the area:

It's the red lined area on the top right and below is a closer look.
