MTC Dedication Day!!!

"What a great blessing we received today ... to witness the dedication of the Ghana Accra Missionary Training Centre (MTC) and to listen to an Apostle of the Lord speak. I wish you could have heard the MTC missionaries singing hymns in both French and English together 'African style' ... wow!! They only had 3 practices and learnt French in just 4 days ... it was mind blowing to witness! We then had the added blessing of being counseled and trained this afternoon by both Elder and Sister Bednar. My heart is full! Two more days of training and catching up with special friends from the other Missions from the Africa West Area s that we haven't seen since we were all in the Provo MTC Mission Presidents & Wives Seminar together in June ... "


You have to look close in the last two photos but he is there visiting with the other Elders. It is so awesome that Elder Baird is able to be there for the MTC dedication! It is so good to see him to!!!

Hats are nice to have (with Elder Sebuliba) Alright everyone, I am 1 month down. It's kind of crazy to think it's been this fast! I love it here so much! Ok so this week has been insane. We got our new companions and our areas of service on Wednesday. I was assigned to open a new area called Akati. No missionary has set foot there and most people haven't seen a white man so they all are saying "Yevoo yevoo!" (means white man in Ewe, there native tongue). So to get there we had to go take the local transport system called Trotro's. A trotro is a big van that civilians just drive and are trying to get cash. It's insane. So we found a trotro at a trotro station going to a place near our mission. So we got in the trotro and waited an hour for it to fill up. We were pretty much cooking in it haha. Busy, busy work week here!

This is one of the missionaries in our apartment. His name is Elder Wehyee from Liberia. We came back and found him like this yesterday, ha ha. Man this last week was probably one of the busiest weeks we have had so far! We had so many lessons to go to this week it was insane! People were actually wanting us to come and see them, so much so, that they were actually calling us! Happy Mother's Day!!!

This little girl is so adorable, ha ha! May 14th, 2018 I know that Mother's day was yesterday but anyone who reads this I just want you to know how amazing all of our Mothers are! I mean they give birth to some of the biggest knuckle-heads *cough *cough...me, ha ha. But seriously though, you Mom's are absolutely amazing! You have raised us in the church our entire lives and taught us everything we need to know in order to follow our Savior the best we can. I love reading the story of the 2,000 stripling warriors because they specifically say that their mothers taught them to be faithful and to remember the Lord always. Just as you have all done. I love you all and just want to thank you for giving all of your children your time and devotion to raise us in this world today. For funerals in Akatsi they get a bunch guys together on motorcycles and just drive around honking their horns for ever, ha ha. Well now I will talk about how much I am going to miss Akatsi. I h...
