A last minute blessing. 6-24-2019

P-day in Aburi. This is an abandoned helicopter that was left there from about 50 years ago.  This last week was another week like usual. To be honest, it was super hard at first because we just weren't seeing any progress with anyone. No one was answering their phone or sticking to the appointments we set. On Wednesday, we didn't get to proselyte in our area, because we went on an exchange with the AP's. That really helped to lift my spirits though. I was with Elder Bennion and he was asking about our area and how we can improve our teaching skills. I told him that I honestly didn't know what to do. He then had us sit down at the chapel and we did our companionship study on something which was quite different. He drew a circle and wrote three words inside and I am attaching it below for you all to see. He explained that in life, we focus to much on the what. For example, the Word of Wisdom has certain rules to protect us but too many times we...

Elder Baird's computer froze and his letter got deleted before he could send it. He was out of time at the computer so there is no letter for today. I did find these pictures that Sister Keyes posted on Facebook of an Ashaiman Zone Activity that Elder helped to organize for the ward. These were taken before the activity began. :)

A good fun filled week! 6-10-2019

Elder Baird forgot to bring his camera with him to the church when he came to do his email. So here is a pretty picture of the Accra Ghana temple (courtesy of the church website). :) This past week was just a fun busy week and it went really well! It's been such a blast getting to know Elder Smith really well, because I have learned what a great missionary he is. I am very grateful I get to serve with him. This past week, on Wednesday, we had MLC (mission leadership conference) and things went really well. We mainly talked about how we can strengthen the mission, how we can help missionaries to feel more successful and to not only look to the numbers for success. It really touched me because sometimes in life we look for immediate success. Especially as missionaries, success may not come for a long ways down the road. Many times, missionaries will need to measure our success by our devotion and dedication in serving the Lord. Only then, can we feel that immediate succes...

Transfers 6-3-2019

Saying my official goodbye. This past week was transfers! I officially had to say goodbye to Elder Jones on Wednesday, which was quite sad, as usual, but it's all good. It's will be okay though, I will see him in exactly four months today. :) Man, time is going by way too fast!  We had a farewell party for Elder Jones and this is all of the Elders who were in the HO zone when I first came on mission. This is everyone who came to see Elder Jones leave. My new companion is from Eagle Mountain, Utah and he is one transfer ahead of me on mission, so I will have one more companion before I go home, ha ha! But that is okay! I love Elder Smith so much. We get along really well and we are both excited to work!  This past week was quite stressful when it came to proselytizing, because I had to go and see a chiropractor to fix my hip, plus my companion had to get his retainer fixed at the orthodontist. That made it so we only had one full day of prosely...
