Eleven months done!

Some of the youth wanted a picture with my companion before he leaves.

Well tomorrow officially marks eleven months that I have been on my mission! It has been such a wonderful experience! I absolutely love it here!

I think I will let you guys know how transfers are going to go down this week! The area will remain open and I will be staying and I will receive a new companion. The only strange thing is that he will be going home in 3 weeks so I will only be with him for a short time. When he leaves, our mission president is going to call a temporary missionary from the ward who will live with me for 3 weeks. Which will be super cool! It's like I am training him early before his mission! SO I am honestly super excited!!!

Dinner at the American ladies house again. :)

She made snickerdoodles!

Okay, a super cool thing happened. There is a family we are teaching and have been teaching for a long time. They are all so very interested in the church but they like their old church too much to leave it. They will come with us every so often. The mother has never come with us because she is afraid of trying something new.

One of her daughters had an accident a few months back and it partially paralyzed the right side of her body. When our bishop heard about this he immediately said "let's go give that girl a blessing." So we scheduled a day and the bishop me and my companion went to give the girl a blessing. Honestly it was such a powerful moment. The spirit was really there. After the blessing, one of the the girl's sisters asked for one as well. Then after that their mother asked for one! During the blessing of the mother (her name is Esther) Her daughters just started to cry. It was such a powerful moment. Then, she came to church the next day!!! She said that she plans on continuing to come! I never thought the Mom would come but she did and she really loved the church! The spirit really does work miracles.

I forgot my journal yet again, ha ha. I had another cool experience but I can't remember what it was. But I want to just share with you guys that I know the lord calls his missionaries, calls them to a place, and transfers them when the need too. Our mission president was wanting to close this area but instead said the Lord said otherwise. I don't know what the lord has planned for me, but I guess we will see what his plan is! I love you all so much and have a wonderful and safe week:)

Sincerely,
Elder Baird

Mom's notes:

1. Elder Baird was really happy that his area is staying open. :)

2. The temporary missionary's name is, Samuel, and he will be called for three weeks. Landon will train him and he will live in the apartment with Landon.

3. He was made District Leader. There are 8 missionaries  besides him in his District. Three of them will be new to the area. He will be conducting all the baptismal interviews as well as other responsibilities. He has a training on Wednesday. My advice to him was pray a lot. He said, "Oh I will be!"

4. Elder Alumande was pretty sad to be leaving but he was also in need of a change.

5. His companion for the next three weeks will be Elder Kallay. He is from Sierra Leone. It will be Elder Kallay's last three weeks of his mission. He will be there on Wednesday. They have met a few times. He is coming from the Tema 2 area which is pretty close to where Elder Baird is now.

6. This week he will be showing Elder Kallay around and trying to find, "a bunch of new people to teach!"
