Another week bites the dust!

Image
Burger King!!! Man I miss my burgers, ha ha ha! Well, another week is gone and another one is coming again, ha ha!  This last week was pretty dang cool! We had some really funny things happen, some spiritual things, and just some fun things that  happened. So let's start with some of the funny and fun things! Today we went to Accra mall for a district activity for the missionaries in our district. The activity was literally just to go to the new Burger King that was opened in Accra mall. :) Ha ha! It was pretty funny because every American was so excited and just couldn't wait to eat there! The Africans were like, "This isn't food, it's a snack" ha ha ha! It was really funny. Then on Friday, I found some Spam in an American store. So Dad, I am cooking up some Spam in remembrance of you. :)  Now for the spiritual things. First, there is a man named Desmond who is from Nigeria. Elder Blanchard has been teaching this guy for a little while. I m...

First Transfer

Image
Saying goodbye to Norkplim and the others in the compound. Man transfers are interesting, especially when it is your first one!  My new area is Batsonaa 1. It is right in the middle of the city, ha ha. The city is a completely different atmosphere! Everything is fast paced. It's loud. Everyone is always busy. It is just a zoo out here, ha ha! There are two bonuses for being here though.    My new apartment. 1. The ward is amazing. The ward is absolutely amazing. The bishop is just such a wonderful man and he genuinely cares for all of the members there. It seems as if all of the members bring their friends to church so we have so many referrals that it's hard to meet all of them, ha ha!  2. There are American stores with American food! :) The food is just super nice because I am able to make things from home which is something I really missed. The only issue is that it's all so expensive, ha ha. So I am learning how to ...

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Image
This little girl is so adorable, ha ha! May 14th, 2018 I know that Mother's day was yesterday but anyone who reads this I just want you to know how amazing all of our Mothers are! I mean they give birth to some of the biggest knuckle-heads *cough *cough...me, ha ha. But seriously though, you Mom's are absolutely amazing! You have raised us in the church our entire lives and taught us everything we need to know in order to follow our Savior the best we can. I love reading the story of the 2,000 stripling warriors because they specifically say that their mothers taught them to be faithful and to remember the Lord always. Just as you have all done. I love you all and just want to thank you for giving all of your children your time and devotion to raise us in this world today. For funerals in Akatsi they get a bunch guys together on motorcycles and just drive around honking their horns for ever, ha ha. Well now I will talk about how much I am going to miss Akatsi. I h...

This week ended with quite a bang!

Anita fed us the biggest amount of fufu I have ever seen! But before we ate we were pounding it for like 2 hours, ha ha. May 7th, 2018 This last week was pretty dang interesting! For starters the week was kind of weird, ha ha. We had a couple of days with tons of lessons and a lot of success. Then the other days were full of disappointments and just a lot of time biking around with no one to see. But, such is missionary work. Sometimes we will have great days, then others will just be the complete opposite. I don't know why Wilcox told me to take this picture of him, ha ,ha but I did. He is so weird. ha ha ha. There were a couple really cool lessons that we had though. One of them, was with a man named Eric. He came to church the first week because our group leader had invited him. He had been traveling and he had just came back last week so we were finally able to meet him. While we were teaching him he was so excited and was just absorbing everything we were t...

Busy, busy week!

Eating at the Sedro families house. Man, this last week was crazy!  We had a ton of people to see this past week and it was pretty dang difficult to do, but we did it! We had so many lessons and new people that we met with and it was just such a blessing! It was super hot last week so I decided to cool off in a freezer in a shop, ha ha. Elder Wilcox being the DJ at the Sedro families house, ha ha . On Thursday, we traveled to Ho to participate in a multi-zone conference which was just absolutely amazing. President Keye's taught us a lot of really cool things. One thing he did was introduced our mission goal and how we are to achieve it. In our mission, our goal is to have 1,500 baptisms and confirmations by the end of 2018. Man, let me just say, I was quite shocked by that number because that is a lot of people! But as President Keyes was explaining it, I realized that it is completely possible! I felt so motivated because it made me think, if we can reac...
