Well this week was different!

Image
Elder Sebuliba and I with our convert Sister Norkplim. She loved the temple and she had a big smile on after she came out from the temple. I was so blessed to be there with her. This last week was pretty different! Elder Bidi and I only got 2 days to actually go out and teach, ha ha! On Monday, it was P-day and then in the evening we had to travel to Dzodze for the night. Then on Tuesday, we had our district council and then we got to teach for a few hours. On Wednesday, we had to travel to Accra which is about 3 hours away. We were there all day Wednesday and Thursday for Elder Bidi to renew his non-citizenship card which is the ID that identifies us as being legal in Ghana. Then on Friday, we had to do interviews for a baptism in Dzodze and got to teach a little bit. On Saturday, we traveled back to Accra to do a branch temple trip which was amazing! SO this last week was crazy busy but really good!  I was helping them open cassava with a machete. That was interesti...

4 Months down!

Soccer with the kids. :) The ball was just plastic tied together, ha ha! :) Well today marks 4 months! 123 days I have been in Ghana and let me just say I have changed quite a bit! This last week was pretty good! The best part was on Thursday I went to Dzodze to do an exchange with Elder Seeley. He is from Idaho and him and I are very similar! That day we didn't use bikes and we just walked around in Dzodze to find people to teach. We didn't find anyone to teach and just visited a little bit with some members. When it was about to get dark we walked by some kids playing with a ball made out of plastic bags tightly wrapped together. Elder Seeley looked at me and said, "Give me your camera and go have fun." SO I did! Man, it was a blast, ha ha! It was pretty much a game of keep away with me against all of the kids!   Then on Friday, we were together again for the whole day. This time we had a few lessons planned and they went super wel...

I love Africa!

We switched glasses for the day, ha ha.  Man, I love Africa and I love being on mission! This last week has been good! Nothing too spectacular happened but it was just a good successful week! One of our investigators name is Rebeccah. She is married and has 2 kids. She is honestly so amazing! We gave her the first pamphlet, she read it that night. We taught her, gave her the Book of Mormon and said we will give her the next pamphlet. She read that pamphlet that same day and wanted us to come back as soon as possible so we can teach her again! She just loves the message we are teaching and is asking so many good questions! She doesn't doubt anything we are teaching her and she just wants more and more!  I found ice cream!!! I am so happy about it, ha ha. It's so good! A funny thing that happened, we met a man while buying food at Norkplim's indomei stand. He was asking us all about the church and what it teaches and just how it all works. HE then aske...

Well this last week was interesting!

The fog in the morning is so thick! This last week we had a lot of good and some interesting things happen! I will start with one of the good things! We were visiting with some people late in the evening and this random guy just walked up to us. At first I was skeptical of what he was doing, because he just started by saying, "I know you guys are missionaries and I want to know the truth so can you meet with me tomorrow?" I was like what?! That is so cool! So we met with him the next day and had a great lesson with him! He accepted everything and just kept telling us how badly he wanted to know the truth and so he was happy that he could talk to us. I hope that he reads out of the Book of Mormon because that right there is the truth to this whole gospel! Missionary work here is hot, sweaty and your hair will always be a mess, ha ha! So on the interesting side of things, our toilet fell apart ha ha. We were cleaning our apartment when I heard my comp...

Hello! Efoa?? (How are you in Ewe)

So this is my mission family so far, ha ha. Elder Nybo on the far left trained Elder Sebuliba who was my trainer and Elder Sebuliba trained Elder Khanga and I. Elder Nybo goes home this week. He is also from Kaysville. :) So I will see him in 20 months! How is everyone doing?? I hope everyone is doing good at home! I am doing great over here!! SO this last week was pretty interesting. I will start with the really cool part. We are teaching a lady and her name is Mabel. She owns a shop that just sells sodas and other stuff like that. We met her the first day that I was here in Akatsi. After we met her, she went and traveled, then she got sick and lots of other stuff happened so we stopped seeing her for a bit. We are now teaching her a bunch and it's going really well. We taught her the Plan of Salvation this week. Let me just say, that was super cool because the whole time she was so involved. She kept asking all of these really good inspired questions and just wanted...
