Hello Everyone :)

First Mission Baptism

Well this last week was interesting! A lot happened!

So for starters the week was really rough  ha ha. Elder Bidi and I were super excited because we had a lot of lessons planned, we were studying for all of them and just couldn't wait to teach them. Well every day it seemed everyone we had scheduled wanted to cancel. So with all that planning and excitement we had, we were really let down.

Why not have some fun while biking ha ha? I did that while riding on the main road with no hands on the handle bars. ;) I'm getting really good at riding with no hands. :)

We were biking around contacting for about 6 hours each day. Now let me just say, that is exhausting. Even though it was hard it came with a few blessings. I got a free loaf of bread, we got some really good new investigators and we were actually able to find someone who was taught by missionaries a year ago! He was so excited to see us and he can't wait to come to church with us! That was probably one of the biggest blessings of my week!

The kids really like my camera and they just take a bunch of random pictures ha ha. We were actually teaching a lesson at that time ha ha.

So I have a funny story for you all. So we were visiting with a lady from about 7-8. As we were about to leave a drunk man came and sat in front of me. HE was so drunk he couldn't even sit with out falling over ha ha. He was so hard to understand. The only thing I could understand was, "white man, I want to hear your voice." So I just talked ha ha ha. He then told us he hates alcohol and wants help to stop drinking it. So he asked what we could teach him. We taught him the Word of Wisdom. I don't think he got anything from it though ha ha ha, but it's OK.
This is everyone who has taught Sister Norkplim. On the far left is Elder Sebuliba, then Elder Bidi and then on the right is Brother George our ward mission leader.

So I had my first baptism on Sunday. That was on of the greatest experiences I have ever had. To see an investigator take this first step is such a blessing. She was so happy and she couldn't stop thanking me. We then talked to her about the temple and she just got even more excited. She can't wait to go through the temple in a year. She is a true example of someone who has truly accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and is fully converted. I was blessed to be one of the missionaries who was able to meet her and teach her.

Just a cool picture of us ha ha.

I know that the Lord prepares people to be taught. I know that he is aware of every one's situation and he knows exactly when the missionaries are supposed to come. Everything is by divine design. Nothing happens by accident. I know that to be very true. I love this gospel and all that it does for the people of the world. To see someone change their lives in order to follow Jesus Christ is such a blessing!

These are all the branch members who attended the baptism.

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!:)

Elder Baird

Mom's notes:

He had his zone conference yesterday (Monday) with the President so he switched his P day to today. He said, "The conference was really good! I really really enjoyed it!

Of his new companion he said, "He is awesome! When were out teaching we do really well and he is getting used to the area very quickly."

He said, "My area is big ha ha. I am getting to know a lot of people! There are a lot close by and a lot far away, ha ha.

He got his washer. He says that it's interesting. He has to fill it with water by himself and the timer has a max of 15 minutes, but it works!

It is a little cooler in Ghana right now and he is enjoying it. He says that the mornings and night actually get a little chilly.
