A hard but remarkable week.

A lady just moved into the other ward that shares the same building with us. She is from California. Her husband is from Nigeria, but they are now living in Ghana because of work. So she had us over on Tuesday night and made us Sheppard's pie, and brownies and ice cream. I was in  food heaven, ha ha! Well, I just want to say thank you to all of you for the love and support given to my family at this time of difficulty. I have felt your prayers this past week. I truly have. I was so lost for a few days trying to get my head around the loss of my Grandmother who I was so close with. I struggled to get myself to stay focused on the work. Until one night, I knelt down to say my usual prayers but instead, I just poured out my heart. I asked for help, I asked for strength. I asked to be able to feel the love of my Grandmother and also to feel of the strength people have been sending me through their prayers. And I have. I felt that strength. I felt that encouragement. 10 months down

Crossing a stream. Oh, Ghana, ha ha. Well, yesterday officially marked 10 months of my mission complete. At the same time it was the day that my dear sweet grandma Carol Lynn Pearson graduated from mortality to live with her family in heaven. Everyone who knew her and were close with her knew how much love she had for everyone in her life.  I will be honest, it's not easy being here. I am kind of on my own having to cope with all of this, but as I was emailing my mom today something dawned on me,  I am not alone. I have my Father in Heaven, my Savior, my grandfather and my grandmother and so many other people here with me. I just want you to all know that you are not alone.  I would write a lot more but this past week hasn't been so easy for me and my companion. We weren't able to have much success. But that is OK. Missionary work isn't supposed to be easy. Life isn't supposed to be easy. Challenges like this are here to test us. This is my test.  ...

Well some weeks are better than others, ha ha!

These are some pictures of an area called Kiosk estates. A kiosk is just a thin wooden house that people just build in random areas.  This past week was a bit rough... It started out that I got a pretty nasty cold so I had a constant headache that was making it hard to focus, my nose was running so bad that it felt like water was just draining out my nose all day long... and then my companion got some pretty bad stomach issues that made it difficult for him to work as well. Honestly, we had a really hard time staying motivated this week, ha ha. This is Rachel and Julius, we are teaching their family right now. When I pulled out  my camera they wanted to pose for a picture. Through all of this we still were working as best as we could. We had planned to have a bunch of appointments every day, but as the days went by, most of our appointments fell through. We have been trying to get in contact with people we used to teach, but for some reason it seems...

Best Sunday ever :)

Cleaning the font, ha ha. I am sporting a new style. It looks great right? :p Well, let me just say, this past week we worked like animals. We were going all over the place trying to get people to come to church. We went and visited everyone who said they would come every day..... but it paid off! Before I talk about Sunday, I will share a funny/sad story, ha ha. We were biking on a dirt road going to meet with some investigators and I generally like to bike really fast, ha ha. I always get to the people's house just ahead of my companion. When I stopped, I greeted the people and then I looked back to check on my companion. As I looked back I saw him flying over his handlebars and slamming down on the ground! I was in shock! I didn't understand what had happened! I asked my companion if he was okay. He was laying flat on his face, and he lifted his head up just enough to look and me and said, "ow". Apparently, his handlebars came a little loose so they ...
