An interesting week, ha ha!

Image
Just taking some pictures out in the bush, ha ha. Literally everywhere we go it's bush, ha ha. This last week was pretty good! Our main focus this week, was to be extending a lot of baptismal dates to the people we have been teaching for a long time. Well all of the people we planned to give dates to didn't work out. Literally not one of them, ha ha. It was pretty sad, to be honest, but oh well what can you do! After all of that, we were somehow able to find a lot of new investigators. Fifteen to be exact, ha ha. They are all really solid people who seem excited and willing to learn! The hard thing is that none of them would come to church, but what can you do? The only thing that we can do is invite people and to testify. That is why our church is so different. We won't force anyone to do anything. I mean there are times that I want to just pick them up and carry them to church, ha ha, But we each have our agency, which is something I have had to lear...

Akatsi Branch is now open!

Image
This is the group that showed up to church.  We had our first Sunday in Akatsi!!!! Let me tell you, I honestly never thought the day would come when we could actually open this branch, but it finally happened! I cannot even tell you how happy I am. Like I was just ecstatic all Sunday.  The night before church we decided to fast as a companionship so that we could have a successful day at church. We got there and we had to clean the whole place super-fast. We are using a school and the night before they had trashed the place. So we cleaned it and then set it up and just waited. At nine o' clock we only had six people in total there. We had me and my companion, our branch president, 2 counselors from the mission presidency, one member, and 2 investigators.  This is what our chapel looks like. It's just a school compound, ha ha. I was really upset to start. I was angry because we worked so hard last week to meet all the people we have been tea...

Transfer week again!

Image
I was bored today so I decided to put pictures up in our apartment to make it look like a missionary apartment. :) Alright so this last week we had our transfers and I was able to receive my new companion! This last week was pretty interesting ha ha! The way they wanted to do the transfers was pretty interesting. I had to stay in Dzodze from Monday until Thursday until my new companion arrived. During that time, we got to do some proselytizing in their area and man, they are very lucky to be where they are! (I asked why they are lucky and he said that the work is always progressing there!) On Thursday, I traveled to Aflao to pick up Elder Wilcox because that is where they decided to send him, ha ha. SO we had a good hour drive back to Akatsi and we were able to just talk and get to know each other. He is 20 months on mission, he is from Syracuse, UT so that is pretty cool! We apparently know each other's friends, ha ha. It's amazing how small the world is whil...

Transfer week!

Image
Elder Bidi and I on our last p-day. This week is the end of our nine week transfer! Let me just say that it was super long, but a lot of great things happened!  I will be staying in Akatsi! Woo Hoo!! But I will be receiving a new companion named Elder Wilcox. I know he is from the US but I'm not sue about the exact state yet, ha ha. I will let you guys know about that next week. Also, there is some good news about our chapel. Not this coming Sunday, but the one after that we will have our first service here in Akatsi. Now to describe my excitement is impossible, because words can't describe how excited I am! I have been waiting for 5 months for this opportunity and now I will truly get to see the start of the Akatsi branch start growing.  Elder Bidi and I with the branch presidency of the Dzodze branch. I have a really quick funny story. We were visiting with one of our investigators and a little girl down the road saw me and started yelling and running a...
