Merry Christmas yesterday and Happy New Year!

Image
My Mission President gave me some steaks to grill while staying in the mission home. :)  I have to say, I made them nice! :) Well hello everyone!!  I hope you all had a good Christmas because I sure did! I got to talk to my wonderful family! I will be honest though, it's not easy saying goodbye to them. You don't realize how much you miss your family until you have to leave them for 2 years. This is a time to be with family everyone and keep them close to you because when we pass on, they are the ones we are going to be with forever. First African tie :) This last week was pretty rough though ha ha. I was in the mission home all week from Monday until Saturday. I was doing tests in the hospital because they thought there were some issues in my heart. Well, after all the tests they found that nothing was wrong with it so thank goodness for that! So I am doing OK!  ....and my second African tie. :) I might come home with a lot of these ha ha! ...

Today marks 2 months!

This one is just funny. The little girl holding my arm is the cutest little thing ever.  She just holds my hand and sits there. It's adorable! Man! Two months ago today I left my home, my family, and my snow, to serve the Lord. To be honest, these 2 months have gone by extremely fast and it is kind of scary to see how fast time flies when you are serving the Lord.  It was time to get some sun glasses. Well this last week was a pretty good one! We got to teach a lot of really good and really spiritual lessons. But, I think one of the crowning moments was being able to get another investigator to come to church with us! It is not easy to pay the money to travel to church on Sunday, as I have already probably said before. It's a 30 or so minute drive. We have been inviting her for a long time now. But when we asked her this last week, she said that she had a strong feeling that she should go. So she came and she loved it! It was such a blessing to see here th...

Well Hello Everyone!

Opened my first Christmas package and found myself a tree :) Well, how has everyone been?? I hope life's treating everyone well back at home. Feel free to email me guys! Send me pictures of snow and I'm not just talking about my family I'm talking to everyone who is getting these emails or is reading my blog! Show your adventures because I want to see what you are all doing. Picture that Sister Keyes took of them at training. Well let me just start off with this week was pretty crazy haha. So we had to drive to Accra for a training meeting with the Mission President. Driving to Accra takes about 4 hours so that's always fun haha. So we went there and had a really great lesson. We stayed the night because of the drive back is so long. Well some elders found a loaf of bread that was just huge! Picture that Sister Keyes took of them at training (I am guessing that this is where he gets his bread slice from) I will send you a picture of th...

A week full of blessings!

Elder Jones and Elder Baird (Sister Keyes took this and posted it on Facebook) Well hello everyone!  This week has been our first real official week of not leaving our area to go somewhere for meetings or anything. SO we got to get some super serious proselyting in. Let me just say, we worked hard! We would plan a lesson for every hour. If it fell through we would call as many people as we could to see if we could meet with them. Since we are opening an area we don't really have any steady investigators which makes things hard. But we have started to find a few people who truly want to learn! District Counsel (also Sister Keyes pictures) The first person that has been making some really good progress, his name is James. He is probably around 85 years old. Now you might think that he's a slow moving old man. But NOOO. He moves like he's in his 50's! When we come he's carrying the chairs for us! He is just so warm and welcoming to us. We ha...
