Landon's Accra Ghana Mission

While waiting outside a compound, a little kid just came up and grabbed the back of my legs and he just stayed there for about ten minutes until his Mom came looking for him, ha ha! :) This past week was really really cool! We had a couple of really good lessons, some funny and weird stuff happened and I definitely felt my testimony strengthen a bit! Alright, first off here is something funny that happened! On Thursday we were leaving the apartment to start our day and we lock up our bikes up in front of our house to a metal railing. As I was unlocking my bike, I noticed that my companion was just standing there. I asked what was wrong and he just started laughing and looked at me and said, "I went to unlock my bike when I realized that I locked the lock to the pole but didn't connect my bike to the lock," ha ha. Eating breakfast at Starbites. This past week was quite a normal week. Not too much happened, ha ha. My companion and I did enjoy ourselves a bit! One morning we had to go help open the chapel for an activity and we had some extra time so we said, "Let's go get an American breakfast!" So we went and got some pancakes, eggs and bacon at a restaurant, ha ha ha. Surprisingly, it was super good! It's been a long time since I have had that so it was a good opportunity to think of home. :) A good old American breakfast. Well, let me tell you about a pretty cool experience that happened last night while we were on our way home. We had taught a lesson and then afterwards we went over to visit some members that are quite far from our apartment. When we got there, they were gone so we just decided to head back because it was late. This is me dying Friday night, ha ha! We have officially discovered that I have a re-occurring tonsillitis which keeps coming back. So the good news is that now that we know why I am always getting sick. The bad news is, I won't be able to get it fixed until I get home. Endurance is a real thing, everyone, ha ha ha! This past week I was sick from part of Thursday and then on Friday, Saturdays and Sunday. So really we were only able to work for half of the week. But that is okay. We were able to see some good people and we made do with what we were able to do! I don't really have much else to say, but I want to share with you what our recent convert (brother Samuel) said to me on Sunday. He came into church a little bit early which was kind of surprising because usually he comes in like five minutes late. Elder Baird's Compound. (No pictures this week so this is the best that I could do.) Transfers have come and I will be staying in Ashalley Botwe for another six week! I was so happy because we have now found a few more people who have already told us they are ready to be baptized. :) Okay so let's talk about some funny stuff that happened this last week. On Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling super sick so I came back to take a nap. That same night I was on the toilet all night long. Let's just say, we ran out of toilet paper very quickly. The next morning I just laid in my bed and died all morning, ha ha. Well after I slept for most of the morning, I felt a bit better to go out again. By the end of Wednesday, I was feeling just fine! But than my companion all of a sudden felt super sick..... SO Thursday morning my companion woke up and was just dying as well, ha ha. So we weren't able to get out until late that afternoon. Samuel's Baptism This last week was a pretty good week and I thoroughly enjoyed it! On Wednesday, we had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Elder Dube of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He came and he did a multi-zone conference with us to help us to know how to be more effective missionaries. Man, I thought I was enthusiastic about the work, but this man is way more enthusiastic! All the missionaries were so amazed as too how excited he is about the work! He was smiling and was just so kind and encouraging. We were worried he was going to come and chastise us, but we were all wrong. He just came and told us how much he loved us and that he wanted to really help us. The Spirit was so powerful and strong. I can tell you that when we left we were all edified and inspired to do even better than what we were doing. Here are the girls that I talked about last week.
