Ever so closer!

My new kentai:) I am obsessed,  ha ha. I designed it myself and he made it for me. We have been told that the 2nd week of April will be when we have a chapel here in Akatsi and then we should be able to start worshiping right here! I have been working tirelessly for this chapel to finally come. Now it is! I honestly can't wait to see this area of Ghana grow into a thriving branch. Most of our outlets went out during a storm so our microwave was in our main hall  on a box for the day, ha ha ha! A few interesting things happened last week. First, while riding up to the house of one of our investigators there was a little kid out front. He turned around and almost immediately as he saw me he just turned and was screaming his head off out of sheer terror, ha ha! He apparently had never seen what a white man looked like so when he saw me it just scared him almost to death, ha ha! He was just screaming bloody murder for about 15 minutes until I went behind the ...

5 months complete!

Before coming out here, I cut off my little brothers Jedi braid. He told me I needed to take it and use it as a book mark. I told him no, ha ha. Well he sneaked it into one of my bags and I finally decided to use it. So shout out to Brendon, one of the funniest kids I know. :) This weekly email will be telling about a pretty interesting experience I had Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Monday night I woke up with a fever of 102 and was shaking uncontrollably and this was about at 1:00 A.M. I tried to sleep but couldn't for about 3 more hours, and by this time I just couldn't stand it anymore. We were staying in Dzodze that night so I went to the Zone Leaders room and asked them to give me a priesthood blessing at 4:00 A.M. ha ha. They were a little bugged but they gave me the blessing and went straight back to sleep. I went and laid back down and almost immediately I felt super sick to my stomach. I then started vomiting for the next 2 hours. In that time I had throw...

Another hard working week!

Walking with Bless from church, ha ha. Man the work here is just busy, busy, busy!  This week we were just focusing on our new investigators to help them start progressing so that they are ready for when the chapel comes. We had  a ton of super successful lessons and the people are just so excited to get baptized that they ask us every time we come, "Where is the building? We want to come and become members!" They are just so excited and it makes me excited to think that this branch will grow so fast in numbers and I got to be one of those who started it! I am going to talk to you about David really quick. We met him contacting one day and he is 18 years old and he is finishing high school. He was very interested in us and we taught him a few times. In our second lesson when reading out of the Book of Mormon he just had a huge smile on his face. I asked him why he looked so happy? Then he said that the part we read really touched his heart and was excite...

Man! This was a week of hard work!

We finally got our white board yesterday so here is a good idea of what our teaching pool looks like! SO this week was one hard working week! We had our zone conference on Tuesday and we weren't able to do any proselytizing because of the traveling for it and it was just the way things worked out. On Wednesday, I did an exchange with Elder Seeley, and with exchanges it just throws off our teaching schedule, so we only got to see like two people. Then on Thursday morning, Elder Bidi and I decided that we were going to work as hard as we could for the rest of the week. During our zone conference, our Mission President challenged us to find six new investigators a week. Well our week was already half over so we had to pick up the slack. We worked like crazy and by Sunday we were able to find 8 New Investigators and they are all very solid! They are very interested and want to keep learning as much as they can! I got a nice African shirt and I absolutely love it! :) ...
